Mission

  • Assisting in conducting non-major English courses and related proficiency tests for both undergraduate and graduate students of the University.
  • Creating a friendly environment to motivate and facilitate language learning.
  • Providing professional proofreading service for graduate students and faculty members at NCKU for academic purposes.
  • Conducting Adult Education programs for NCKU students, faculty members, and local residents who are interested in learning foreign languages, including English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Vietnamese.
  • Hosting standardized proficiency tests, such as GEPT, TOEIC, and IETLS, in cooperation with international testing institutions.    
  • Publishing the English as a Global Language Education (EaGLE) Journal. It is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that addresses issues in language teaching and learning in the globalized contexts where English is used as a Lingua Franca.
