Upload English Proficiency Test Score Reports/Certificate

Examples of Unacceptable English Test Transcripts or Certificates

Instructions for Uploading a CEFR Certificate/Transcript

I. Purpose & Target Audience

  • Target Audience: First-year undergraduate students (Freshmen) enrolled in the current academic year.
  • Purpose: To guide freshmen who already possess valid English proficiency scores on how to upload their documents for English module placement and subsequent course selection.

II. Designated System & Key Dates

Please upload a scanned copy of your English proficiency certificate/transcript to the designated system within the specified period:

*CRITICAL WARNING: DO NOT upload your scores to the "English Course Waiver/Exemption and Confirmation of Foreign Language Competence System." The two systems serve different purposes. Documents uploaded to the wrong system will not be processed.

  • Upload Period: From 00:00, Saturday, August 1 to 23:59, Thursday, August 20, 2026.
  • Read-Only Period: From 00:00, August 21 to 16:00, September 1, 2026. (During this time, the system is open for status checking only; no uploads or resubmissions are allowed.)

III. Rules & Important Reminders

  • Choose ONE Path Only: You must choose either to "Upload English Proficiency Scores" OR "Register for the Placement Test (OOPT)." If you upload scores after registering for the test, your test registration will be automatically canceled without prior notice.
  • Upload Early: The review process is manual and pauses during weekends and national holidays. If the deadline falls on a holiday, processing will resume on Monday. We strongly advise uploading early so you have time to resubmit if your initial document is rejected.
  • DO NOT Re-upload: Once your submission is "Approved," do not upload any files again. Doing so may overwrite and erase your module placement data. You will be held fully responsible for any data loss.
  • Module Level Selection: The review standard is based on the module that meets the English proficiency test score. Those who meet the standard will not be allowed to select lower-level modules. For example, those who score 945 on the TOEIC test can only select "Module 3". Please do not select Module 1 or Module 2.

IV. Strict Document Requirements

Please upload a complete, clear, scanned copy of the original certificate or transcript.

  • Currently accepted English proficiency tests include, but are not limited to: TOEFL iBT, TOEFL iTP, TOEIC Listening&Reading/Speaking&Writing, GEPT Listening&Reading/Speaking&Writing, BESTEP Listening&Reading/Speaking&Writing, Linguaskill Workplace Listening&Reading/Speaking&Writing, Linguaskill General Listening&Reading/Speaking&Writing, IELTS, Cambridge Main Suite, BULATS, etc.
  • Invalid Documents (Will be Rejected):
    1. Blurry images, partial screenshots, or any web page screenshots.
    2. High school diplomas or internal high school exam results.
  • Non-Chinese/English Documents: If your document is not in Chinese or English, you must include an official Chinese or English translation (bearing an official/school stamp certifying it as a true copy). The translation and the original document must be merged into a single PDF file for upload.

V. Review Process & Status Tracking

  • Review Time: Approximately 7 working days (depending on submission volume). All reviews will be completed by 16:00, Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
  • How to Check:
    • You can log in to the "English Placement System" at any time to track your progress.
    • The system will send email notifications regarding your result. However, if you miss the email, the status displayed in the system shall prevail.

VI. Placement Criteria & Course Selection

  • Placement Criteria: Placement is based on the "NCKU English Module Courses with their CEFR Alignments." If your specific exam is not listed, placement will follow these principles:
    • Module I: Corresponds to CEFR B1 and below.
    • Module II: Corresponds to CEFR B2.
    • Module III: Corresponds to CEFR C1 and above.
