                Examples of Unacceptable English Test Transcripts or Certificates

Instructions of Uploading a CEFR Certificate/Transcript

 

  1. Target students: Freshmen of 2024 academic year
  2. Students with CEFR proficiency certificates should directly register for a corresponding module from the English Placement System(https//eagle.english.ncku.edu.tw/eagleclassfiy) with the required document uploaded. The system is open from 00:00 , August 1 to 12:00 pm, August 30, 2024. Late submission will not be accepted in any circumstance.
  3. Please note that the “English Placement System” and the “Confirmation of Foreign Language Competence System” are used for different purposes. Students should make sure to upload their English certificates/transcripts for module registration via the English Placement System. The Foreign Language Center assumes no responsibility for students’ negligence.
  4. Please be sure to read the Instructions of Uploading a CEFR Certificate/Transcript file at the top of the page and follow the instructions.

Important Reminder

(1) Please make sure the scanned certificate or transcript is complete and clear. Images that show only fragments of the certificate/ transcript or print-screened transcripts will NOT be accepted.

(2) It typically takes about 6 to 7 business days to verify uploaded files. Uploaded files cannot be verified on non-business days.

(3)Please confirm the results in the " English Placement System". Students should take full responsibility for the confirmation of the result, and should re-upload the documents needed in due time if the first application is rejected. The Foreign Language Center takes no responsibility for students’ negligence.

(4) Students whose applications have been approved are reminded not to re-upload files. If data loss occurs due to re-uploading files again, students are responsible for any consequences.

(5) A high school diploma or the grades of a (placement) test held by high schools are NOT accepted.

(6) Please click Check Test Registration Details/ Results of Review in the " English Placement System" to check the application result. Additionally, students will receive an email notification.

  If students are unable to receive the email due to incorrect filling of personal mailbox information, insufficient mailbox capacity, etc., please refer to the application result displayed in " Check Test Registration Details/ Results of Review.

(7) We do NOT accept the English test certificates or transcripts shown in the “Examples of Unacceptable English Test Transcripts or Certificates. Please be sure to read the corresponding file at the top of this page.

(8) Module assignments will be determined according to the results corresponding to CEFR English proficiency levels outlined in the chart at https://flc.ncku.edu.tw/p/412-1144-30626.php?Lang=zh-tw

If students are not using the tests specified in the chart, English modules will be assigned

based on the following principles :

       Module 1: CEFR B1 and below
Module 2: CEFR B2
Module 3: CEFR C1 and above

  1. Here are two ways to inquire about your module results:

(1)  After uploading English proficiency test scores, you can log in to the English Placement System

to check the module results before 12:00 pm, August 30, 2024. If you application is approved, your module result will be displayed directly.

(2)  You can check your module results after 16:00, September 5, 2024 by entering the website of  NCKU Course Information and Course Enrollment System.

  1. Students are required to select courses preferred in the category of English Module Program. Selection of English module courses for this semester starts from 9:00, September 6 to 17:00, September 7, 2024.
