Schedule of Course Enrollment
- Phase 3 Course Enrollment: 09:00, September 9 to 17:00, September 12
-English Module Courses :
- Except for the following status (relevant proof must be presented), other students will not be eligible for course additions. Students who have already enrolled in an English course at the previous stage and have dropped the course will not be accepted for the English course addition.
- Summer transfer students for the current semester (113-1), who admitted after the second stage of course enrollment.(with one of the following certificates: Notice of Acceptance/ List of Admission/ Notice of Acceptance for Waitlisted Applicants)
- 113-1 semester reenrolling students (with application documents for early reenrollment)
- Students who resumed their studies in the 112-2 semester are no longer considered as students resuming studies starting from the 113-1 semester. Therefore, they must first complete the registration module before they can proceed with course selection. For detailed schedules, please refer to Section (IV) Application for English Modules for second/third/fourth year students.
- If there are vacancies in the course you would like to join, please register for preferred courses via the NCKU Course Information & Enrollment System from September 9 to September 12, and from September 16 to September 18.
- If there are NO vacancies in the course you would like to join, you must provide the relevant proof (please see below) for the course addition. The additional courses will be arranged by the staff in charge based on the course selection situation at that time.
- For those who’s schedule can only take English courses with no vacancies, please provide the schedule for verification.
-Online Remedial English:
- If you are unable to select the Online Remedial English course online due to English credits exemptions, please come to the Foreign Language Center for course enrollment.
- According to the "National Cheng Kung University Online Remedial English Course Registration and Learning Assessment Regulations," the prerequisite for enrolling in the Online Remedial English is the completion of 4 credits in English.
-Second Foreign Language Course:
Please go to the class directly to ask the instructor for permission to add the course.
- Phase 3 Course Enrollment (I) : 09:00, September 9 to 17:00, September 12
Phase 3 Course Enrollment (II) : 09:00, September 16 to 17:00, September 18
At this stage, students are allowed to drop courses online in the computer-selected enrollment
if they have been enrolled by computer selection. Those who intend to add an English course shall register for preferred courses for computer-selected enrollment.
A maximum of 1 English module course and 1 second foreign language course may be included in the schedule.
- Phase 3 Adjustment Period: 09:00, September 23 to 17:00, September 25 for Special Circumstances
For additions to English Module Courses, Online Remedial English or Online English for Graduate Students , please come to the Foreign Language Center. The additional courses will be arranged by the staff in charge based on the course selection situation at that time.
The Foreign Language Center will NOT assist students in withdrawing from courses. If students want to withdraw from courses, please withdraw from the courses online via the NCKU Course Information & Enrollment System after September 26.
-A1 English Course Additions
Priority for course addition is as follows:
- Those who have participated in the Phase 3 Course Online Enrollment will be able to apply for an additional on the first to third day of Course Enrollment Under Special Circumstances.
- Those who have NOT participated in the Phase 3 Course Online Enrollment will be able to apply for an additional on the second and third day of Course Enrollment Under Special Circumstances.
- Due to limited course availability, the center cannot guarantee that every student will be able to add the English course. Students are advised to take advantage of the opportunity during the Phase 3 Course Online Enrollment.
Only students with the following statuses may add an English course (English modules is required for Addition).
- Students in fourth grade or above who still lack English credits
à To add 4 credits of English Course, please present transcripts from previous years with the department note that
(1) the student plans to graduate in the current semester,
(2) the number of credits of English Course missing,
(3) the departmental stamp.
Department offices may require students to attach a statement of explanation if necessary.
- Students under special circumstances (course cancellation, instructor change, course time slots change, major study credits not meeting the minimum standard or other special circumstances)
à To add the English course under special circumstances, please provide relevant proof for the approval of the course additions.
※ English Course Additions are NOT available for university students in first to third year.
- Students applying for early graduation
à please present transcripts from previous years with the department note that
(1) the reasons for early graduation,
(2) the number of credits of English Course missing,
(3) the departmental stamp.
Departments may require students to attach a statement of explanation if necessary.
- Students who have already completed 4 credits but wish to enroll in additional English courses (only on the last day of Phase 3 Adjustment Period)
-A1 Second Foreign Language Course Additions
- Additions for the second foreign language course, please go to the class in person to obtain permission from the instructor from September 9 to September 20. The courses will be added successively to their class schedules after September 25. Please check on the NCKU Course Information & Enrollment System.
- The Foreign Language Center will NOT assist students in withdrawing. If students want to withdraw, please withdraw from the courses online via the NCKU Course Information & Enrollment System after September 26.
- Students should pay attention to the course schedule by themselves and will not be notified if any of the following situations occur. The Foreign Language Center will not be liable for any subsequent issues.
- Exceeding the credit limit for the semester after additions for the second foreign language but not meeting the overloading qualifications.
- After adding a second foreign language course, it is in conflict with other courses in the course schedule.
- If a student, before or after additions, has already chosen a second foreign language course with vacancies through the three-stage online course selection, they will no longer be included in the course additions list for the same course in that semester.
- Before or after adding a second foreign language course, students who have a second foreign language courses of same language in their current semester schedule.
- Before or after adding a second foreign language course, students who have taken a maximum of two second foreign language courses in the same semester will not be able to add a third second foreign language course in accordance with the " NCKU Foreign Language Center Regulations for Offering the Second Foreign Language Courses".
- After course additions, if students find themselves with two foreign language courses of the same name in their current semester schedule, or if they wish to select a foreign language course with the exact same name as a previously completed one, the regulations of the "National Cheng Kung University Student Course Selection Regulations" apply. According to the regulations, "Credits for repeated courses are not included in the minimum required graduation credits, but both the semester grade and the graduation grade will be included in the calculation.". In the event of such a situation, the Foreign Language Center will send an email reminder to the students, and it is essential for them to check their email regularly. If students wish to withdraw from a course due to credit-related issues, they are required to withdraw from the courses online on their own. The Foreign Language Center takes no responsibility for any issues arising from not noticing email notifications, including insufficient total graduation credits or other related problems.
